MIND MAPS
These are maps of the human being. The faces are the physical body, outside is the physical world. Inside is the energy/astral body which is connected to the breath. The energy body is the interface between the mind and the physical body. Then come the 5 sense minds, the intellectual mind, the ego shown as I, the causal body which is the storehouse of karma. Then comes the source of the universe or god. Meditation purifies the mind, yoga and other breath practices purify the energy body. When these are pure and clear the light of the source shines through and this is nirvana. When these are impure and have lots of movement and content, the light is blocked out and this is samsara. Therefore, samsara and nirvana are states of mind. |

THE SUNRISE
The traveler has come alive again
Looking out from glistening eyes
The sky is iridescent blue
The music bes and bops
The pasta was good
I now belong to god
Intertwined I sleep
with the vast endless universe
Encrusted melded with joy
Insight, wonder and pain
All at once
Oh! To be alive
Leave behind everything
So you may be free
Free to embrace everything fully
What you hold you lose
What you let go is yours
Holding onto nothing
My heart is clear and free
My step is like a balloon rising
I fear nothing
I no longer hold onto clarity
Familiar with power
I let it go
My eyes powerful like black holes
My heart like a deep ocean
Rises and ebbs
Sometimes joy, sometimes pain
Like the sky changing colors
Dark here, bright there
Glowing now, raining then
But where I dwell, Its all ok
I enlist in a crusade
To fly through the air
To hold those sufferers
Who are blind and deaf
I am still learning to fly
Each day I fly a little higher
Like a falcon circling
High high up in the sky
A mere speck
To the daily commuter
Almost non existent
In the rush hour traffic
Then with a fell swoop I descend
Plunging into the ocean
I grasp a fish in my beak
And bring it to the hungry man
Sitting on the street at night
Shivering in the cooling shades of
The autumn breeze.
The immaculate ones
Once said to me
Oh! the foolish ones,
Alas! see how they trade,
Diamonds for dust,
The body of the buddhas,
For the trivial pleasures
Of the world.
If only they could see
What they are missing. |
